The first Church of St. Michael on this site was dedicated in 1665, and destroyed in the hurricane of 1780. The replacement, erected in 1789 of coral stone in a simple classical style, was then the largest church this side of the Atlantic. Recently refurbished, the church’s interior is quite stately, with galleries on three sides, fine stained glass windows, sculptures, a ceiling shaped like an upturned boat, and many other interesting features. The organ is one of the best in the West Indies. The choir will sing evensong at 5 pm.
Open House Begins at 2:30pm and Ends at 5:30pm
